I officially have a new weekend sanctuary.
If you are trying to cut back on the coffee or was never really a fan in the first place, Te’Amo Boba Bar may just be your new favorite place. At the top of my favorite drink list:
- Matcha Latte
- Honey Milk Tea
- Passion Fruit Tea
The music was serene (but I had on earbuds so they could have been playing the worst compilation of techno known to man, it would not have mattered.) My small, private, plush booth seating–with a nearby power outlet, was the perfect equation for me having an extremely productive weekend of work.
Of course, there has to be a downside. The wi-fi. It seemed like the signal weakened as more people arrived with laptops, hoping to camp out for the rest of the day, working, texting, reading, and stopping for the occasional Instagram/Facebook break. I guess I have to keep in mind that this place is near… Well pretty much, on the University of Chicago campus. Which means the signal was probably overloaded with students, professors, university employees, and… Me.
My suggestion? Try something new, enjoy the atmosphere, and always have a good book on-hand when the wi-fi is weak or downright goes out.
